Goizueta Finance Group

the center of all undergraduate finance extracurriculars at Emory University

Welcome to GFG!

Our Purpose

GFG is the umbrella organization that oversees all finance extracurricular activities at Goizueta Business School. Often, we coordinate events with the business school administration to plan recruiting events, academies, and networking opportunities to the larger Goizueta community.

Our Structure

Goizueta Finance Group (GFG): The umbrella organization that oversees all activities of the underlying organizations. Presidents of each individual organization make up the Board of GFG. GFG is in constant contact with the Goizueta administration, especially the Career Management Center, to coordinate events and forward recruiting information.

Goizueta Investment Management Group (GIMG): The premier and only student-run investment fund at Emory, currently managing around ~$300k of Emory’s endowment. GIMG focuses on providing a strong educational experience for our members, generating “alpha” on intellectual capital. Membership for pre-BBAs is closed, and BBAs must complete the BBA Academy to be considered for admission into GIMG. For more information, please refer to our website here.

Oxford Investment Management Group (OIMG): The Oxford branch of GIMG, currently operating as a subsidiary of the Equity Fund in GIMG. Operationally, the clubs look similar—OIMG simply provides the GIMG experience to students at the Oxford campus.

Goizueta Women in Finance (GWIF): The diversity and inclusion organization at Goizueta that primarily focuses on women engagement with Finance, but has since expanded to include all underrepresented affinity groups. GWIF hosts specialty speaker series and events that are targeted towards this specific demographic, combined with a closed mentorship program available to BBAs.

Emory Center for Alternative Investments, BBA (CAI-BBA): The undergraduate arm of the Emory Center for Alternative Investments, an MBA organization seeking to promote student engagement with alternative asset classes. For more information, please refer to our official website here.

Goizueta Investment Banking Club (GIBC): The mentorship program for ambitious underclassmen Goizueta students interested in pursuing a career in the investment banking industry. GIBC leverages the experience of upperclassmen and recent alumnus to guide, advise, and support students as they navigate internship and full-time recruiting processes. GIBC also hosts networking and educational events open to all Emory students in conjunction with the BBA and MBA career centers. For more information, please refer to GIBC’s official website here.

Algory Capital: Algory Capital is an undergraduate quantitative investment fund at Emory University, trading $100k+ of the Emory endowment across equities, ETFs, and options. The fund is managed through the Quantitative Investments (QI) and Global Markets (GM) divisions. The two-semester QI or GM Academy Training Program is required for underclassmen entering into either division at Algory Capital. Students with experience in quant finance or traditional finance can apply directly to the QI or GM division. The two-semester Academy Training Program teaches foundational concepts of quantitative finance or corporate finance in the fall and quantitative trading or discretionary trading in the spring. All members gain hands-on experience trading of $100k+ of the Emory endowment, 1-on-1 career mentorship, and access to a database of 100+ finance programs and internships. Our website can be found here.

GFG is an organization targeted specifically towards BBAs, although many of our events are open to the larger student population. The only organization under GFG with closed membership is GIMG—every other organization’s events have a drop in-style general body.
